HOLLERTRONIX -DIPLO- MDBP AFTERPARTY @ THE BARBARY
WOW! LET THE CROWD SURFING, BOW THROWING, AND WYLIN OUT BEGIN!!!!
About 8 yrs ago in Philadelphia I (LOWBUDGET) met this weird kid named Wes (DIPLO) who was really into records and flea markets. Little did I know,at the time, that this would change my life, a lot of ours actually. At the time, I was comin up in Philly as a DJ and He was trying to throw parties. We both realized that we wanted to fill a void, both in the party scene and our pockets. We were both into Dirty South Rap, Baltimore Club music, Dancehall, as well as all the other 80's, Indie, Electro party music at the time. We kept running into each other and having these conversations when we realized that we just might be the only two people in the world that were this odd (until we met Dirty South Joe) So we had to throw a party to celebrate these oddities.....
AND HOLLERTRONIX WAS BORN!!! Turns out we weren't the only weirdos because within a year it was the most talked about party in Phladelphia. The place where people WILED THE F OUT. Then we came out with a mixtape to sum up the party, which took it to the next level. It was ranked in the top 10 NY Times albums of 2003 (I don't even know how that happens with a mixtape but it did). It spread like wildfire and the DJ world was set ablaze. A lot has happened since then but on this night, Aug 7th, we're gonna reunite to get it crunk once again…AND WE'VE BROUGHT SOME FRIENDS!!!!
